Tank 908

By the late 1950s, Piaget had made thinness its signature. In 1957 the Maison introduced the calibre 9P, a hand-wound movement only 2 mm thick, which made possible cases of unusually slim and refined proportions and went on to define the Piaget dress watch for decades.

This ref. 908 dates back to the 1980s and is a pure expression of that idea: a square case in 18k yellow gold, with clean lines and short, squared lugs that let the strap sit flush with the case. The dial is all restraint: black baton indices with a doubled marker at 12, the Piaget signature ‘Swiss’ at six, and blued hands adding a subtle note of contrast. Over time the dial has turned to a warmer tone, giving the watch a softer, more vintage character that sits naturally against the gold.

The case is in excellent condition, preserving its sharp geometry and proportions, with Swiss gold hallmarks on the caseback. Inside, it is powered by the calibre 9P. The watch is fitted with a generic strap and buckle and is offered as watch only.

A discreet gold Piaget built around the movement that shaped the Maison’s identity, for collectors who appreciate elegance in its quietest form.
