This example dates to 1970 and is centred around one of the most captivating and sought-after dial variations in the entire Datejust family: the black ‘Confetti’ dial. To the naked eye, the surface reads as a deep, matte black with an almost velvet-like quality, but under the loupe, it reveals a dense scattering of tiny red, green, and yellow chips that immediately transform the dial into something truly special. The dial presents in beautiful condition, vivid, even, and free from any meaningful flaws with the Tritium plots showing a warm, consistent patina across all indexes, details that matters enormously on this particular configuration.
